Fly Fishing Report for the Upper Delaware and Catskill Rivers

NYMPHING GETTING HOT!

Both of the Trout below were taken on tiny nymphs over the weekend.

Every year there comes a time in late summer where the daytime Sulfurs start to become less reliable and there is window of time where the trouts normal routine starts to change. Every year as this occurs the nymphing catches fire and our guests really start to run the numbers up.

Over the last week or so there has been a big increase in the way the fish are going for nymphs. Almost every recent trip has had double digit hookups on nymphs. Over the past weekend this action stayed red hot and we lots of fish as well as some really big fish.

All of my recent fishing has been on the tailwaters. Some of my recent West Branch floats have been steady action with over a dozen fish per trip.

This great nymph fishing should continue until the heavier blue wing olive hatches of fall get underway.

Now is a great time to get out and work on your nymphing techniques with our guides. I am also offering one on one trips in our new raft that will put you on water that is difficult to get to on foot.

Give us a call today to get on the schedule at 607-290-4022
