Fly Fishing Report for the Upper Delaware and Catskill Rivers
Weekend Outlook
This report will be pretty quick and to the point. Yesterday the trend of steady rainfall continued. All of our guides were on the water throughout the rain and had great fishing.
For anglers on foot the lack of accessible water will continue. This morning there is very little wade fishing access in the Upper Delaware system. The high water should keep walk waders confined to walking the banks for a while.
If you have a drift boat our want to fish with our guides the action is excellent. Yesterday the Streamer bite was hot. We had fish attacking the streamer all afternoon. In addition to the hot streamer action the dry fly fishing is as good as it gets. Yesterday and every day recently we have had 5+ hours of dry fly fishing.
During yesterdays float we never had to go very far to find a fish rising and we had a half dozen 17" to 18" Brown trout on Blue Wing Olives along with a bunch of smaller trout. This is what this time of year is about and the action will continue through the time where the rivers freeze up.
The Photos below are from the last 2 days on my boat.
Now is an excellent time to book a float trip with our guides. 607-290-4022
