The Upper Delaware RIver System is steep in history. Located in New York's Catskill Mountains these waters have been luring Trout fishermen for centuries.

Today the Upper Delaware river system is widely recognized as one of the top Trout producing systems in the USA. All of our rivers boast nice population of wild trout and one of the most diverse aquatic insect population found anywhere. Our waters are truly a Fly Fishermen's dream location!

 

The Baxter House guide staff has earned a solid reputation as the most knowledgable professional guides in the region. We are not bound to any one location. Each day we choose our fishing beats based on current river and weather conditions as well as an intimate knowledge of the regions insect hatches.

 

On any given day our guides may choose to put you out on the Beaverkill River, Willowemoc Creek, The East Delaware, West Delaware, Main Stem Delaware or any of the lesser known, off the radar Trout streams in our beautiful region. We are pretty hard core, we fish until dark and go out in all weather conditions.

 

On most days our guests will have the opportunity to take mature Trout on Dry Flies, Nymphs and Streamer flies. Our guides love to hunt Giant Brown trout with over-sized streamer flies.

Guided Fly Fishing for Trout

April through November - Our trips are all about the fishing. Our full day trips are a true full day. You can expect to spend 8 to 10 hours with your guide. All of our guided trips include the use of gear, flies, transportation, shuttle services and soft drinks. We have wader rentals available if needed.

​Daily Guide Rates for Trout-

Full Day Float Trip, Walk Wade  or  Combination trip - $550.00 for one or two anglers

April 1 through November - 8 to 9 hours. Our most popular Trip!

Our professional Guides will show you 8 to 12 miles of the best trout water in the east.

Most floats are on the Main Delaware River, East Branch Delaware

or the West  Branch Delaware.

Half Day Walk Wade and Instruction -                         $499.00 for one or two anglers

$50.00 for additional angler. April through November Trips  start 8:00 am and 2:00 pm 

A perfect trip for beginner fly angler and anyone who wants to learn the waters 

of the Beaverkill and Willowemoc.

Half Day Drift Boat Trip - July and August                   $499.00 for one or two anglers

Trips  start 8:00 am and 2:00 pm. These trips are for the angler who wants to target

smaller sections of the river by boat. We focus on both nymph and dry fly fishing on these floats.

Evening Hatch Float Trips    Late June through August      $550.00 for one or two anglers

Evening Hatch Float trips run about 5 hours and begin at 4:00 pm. These floats target the

exact time that trout and insects are most active in Summer. These floats are all about the DRY FLY!

Late Night Mouse and Streamer Fishing for Trophy Trout - $550.00 for one or two anglers

June through September. 5 Hour Trips start at 7:00 pm. These float trips are hunts for the

largest Brown Trout in the river. We target these predators with Mouse Patterns, Poppers,

Frog Patterns and over-sized streamers.
